Our Story
This is how the Vanishing Animal Chronicles was born.
There once was a little boy. He lived on an acreage with his parents, his big sister, two dogs, and his free range chickens.
He was so gentle and kind to all the animals and all his friends.
He grew and became known as the "Gentle Giant."
He never stopped being kind. And he never stopped loving the animals. The more animals he learned about, the more he loved!
One day, he learned some animals were endangered.
He made it his life mission to set out on "creature rescues" - inspired by the Kratt brothers - rescuing stray animals, returning languishing nightcrawlers from the sweltering pavement to the peaceful abyss of the yard, whenever he could.
He used his Show and Tell time at school to advocate for some of the world's most vulnerable animals. For three minutes each week, he would introduce an animal, tell his class a few "fun facts" about the animal, and then with a tear in his eye, and compassion burning his tummy, he would remind them that the animal was endangered, and tell them how they could help.
This was the seedbed of altruism in which the Vanishing Animal Chronicles was nurtured.
Fast forward a decade, and Peregrine H. Falcon (his penname) chose to write a series of children's books about his favorite animals for his Bar Mitzvah Project.The project is 1 part advocacy, 1 part activism - and 100% LOVE - as each book lists ways in which YOU, TOO, can help save these amazing animals. A portion of the proceeds goes to support animal activism around the world.
